The EXA SC, an intelligent two-wire electric conductivity transmitter system with a microprocessor incorporated, has been developed by applying the latest sensor technology based on YOKOGAWA's long term application experience.

If the relationship between conductibity and concentration of solution is clearly known, concentration can be determined from conductivity measurement. In many cases, the conductivity measurement can also be utilized for control of solution concentration.

The EXA SC system can be applied to measurements in a wide variety of fields, such as water quality measurements for boiler water, tap water, cooling water, etc, various manufacturing process solution measurement in the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries and measurement of cleaning solutions, rinsing liquids and plating solutions in metal surface treatment processes.

The EXA SC is a new type of conductivity meter system designed by fully considering ease of user operation in addition to enhanced and multiple.

* Line-segment approximation (at up to 20 input break points) output (4 to 20 mA)
linearly proportional to conductivity input can be freely set up
* Measuring ranges can be freely set up.
* For temperature compensation, any reference temperature and any temperature
coefficient can be set up. Also, if the temperature coefficient is set to "NaCl",
the temperature coefficient automatically changes with NaCl concentration
(conductivity) and the optimum temperature compensation can be obtained in low
NaCl concentration water such as pure water or ultra pure water.
* Measuring accuracy is improved as well as the influence of detector contamination
form dirt adherence is reduced because of automatic selection of condutivity
detection pulse oscillating frequency and voltage. Synchronous processing is optimized.
For significant dirt adherence, alarm signal is output.

The built-in self diagnostic function can detect process solution abnormality and
detector and transmitter failures, and can output contact signals from the dedicated
distributor.

* The transmitter has an interactive operation panel which is easy-to-operate.
* The transmitter can be freely set up cell constants and be connected to various sensors.

Freely settable between -10 and +10 %/ degree C.
Settable following the temperature coefficients of NaCl solution - Temperature coefficient of NaCl solution widely varies depending on its concentration (conductivity)
In this transmitter, the temperature coefficient is automatically changed corresponding to concentration change to optimize the temperature compensation computation.
