SC100 Panel Mount Conductivity Analyzer

Q1 What are the power supply specifications?
A1 The rated voltage and frequency of the power supply of the SC100 panel mount conductivity analyzer are 100 to 240 VAC (±10%) and 50/60 Hz, respectively.
This conductivity analyzer is not driven by the DC power supply.

Q2 What is the transmission signal output?
A2 The current (DC) of an output signal is 4 to 20 mA, the number of insulating transmission outputs is one (conductivity measurement value) and the load resistance is 600 Ω or less.

Q3 What is transmission signal range?
A3 A transmission signal range can be set within a measurement range.
     Lower limit range: 0 μS/cm to 180 mS/cm
     Upper limit range: 0.20 μS/cm to 200 mS/cm

The difference between the upper and lower limits of a range should be at least 0.2 μS/cm and the lower limit should not be greater than 90% of the upper limit.

Note: This configurable range is for the converter itself.
       Configurable range is defined by the sensor used.

Q4 What are the contact outputs?
A4 Two or four output contacts are available (designated when placing the order). Relay contact outputs are made for contacts and ON/OFF operations are also performed for contacts.
The types of contact outputs can be selected from upper-limit alarm, lower-limit alarm, upper upper-limit alarm, lower lower-limit alarm, upper upper-limit alarm/lower lower-limit alarm and FAIL (abnormality).

Q5 Can the output be held during maintenance?
A5 Yes, it can.
It is selectively made at the immediately preceding value or at the preset value.

Q6 How is error diagnosis performed?
A6 Upon detecting an error, the SC100 panel mount conductivity analyzer indicates the error in a message area (auxiliary display area) and the error number flashes.

Error No. Description Cause Corrective Actions
E-1 Conductivity input is outside measurement range Conductivity input signal from the sensor is too small or large to measure accurately.
· Check connection between the sensor and the converter.
· Make sure that the sensor or cable is not abnormal.
· If the sensor is found to be broken, replace it.
E-2 Temperature measurement out of range Temperature input resistance is out of measurement range.
· Check the connection between the sensor and the converter.
· Temperature of measured solution should be within the range -10 to 110℃.
· If temperature of solution is within the permissible range but error still occurs, the sensor is probably broken and should be replaced.
E-3 Temperature sensor abnormal Sensor wiring broken or wires shorted.
· Remove sensor from measurement solution and allow it to reach room temperature. Disconnect the sensor cable terminals from the converter, and measure the resistance between the terminals.
If the resistance of each RTD type at 25℃ isn't shown in Approx. 1100Ω(Pt1000), the sensor should be replaced.
E-4 Converter abnormal Converter is faulty. Turn power OFF then ON again. If the error recurs, contact Yokogawa.
E-5 Temperature correction out of range Temperature compensation is out of range. The screen shows [ - - - - ] Determine the temperature coefficient, and re-set this value.

SC100 : Error Messages, Possible Causes, and Corrective Actions during calibration
Error No. Description Cause Corrective Actions
C-1 Standard solution temperature out of range At calibration time, standard solution temperature was measured out of the temperature range 0 to 100℃. Use solution within the permissible temperature range.(0 to 100℃)
C-2 Calibration error The compensated cell constant is out of the range of ±20% of the set cell constant.
· Make sure sensor isn't dirty. If dirty, wash the electrode.
· Make sure the value of the calibration solution is correct
· If the above does not solve the problem, the electrode is probably faulty. Replace the sensor.
C-3 Zero calibration abnormal During zero calibration, the zero point was out of the permitted range.
· Make sure sensor is dry. If not dry, wipe off water and dry it.
· If the above does not solve the problem, then the electrode is probably faulty. Replace the sensor.
C-4 Standard liquid conductivity outside measurement range The standard conductivity solution was out of measurement range.
· Check the electrical connection between the sensor and the converter.
· Check the sensor cable.
· If the sensor is found defective, replace it.

Q7 Can I connect SC100 with detectors other than a Special detector?
A7 The SC100 panel mount conductivity analyzer allows the following sensors to be connected for measuring conductivity, in addition to the SC100 dedicated sensors (SC10XB).
