-  Awarded contract by INPEX Browse Ltd. for front end engineering design (FEED) for an integrated control and safety system to control gas, condensate and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities planned to be built in the Browse Basin off the coast of Western Australia and in Darwin as part of the Ichthys LNG Project -  Awarded contract to build simulator for Liddell Power Station, NSW -  Yokogawa Australia’s project at Energy Brix power station in Morwell, Victoria wins a PACE Zenith award for excellence -  Awarded the contract to upgrade the steam turbine control systems at Eraring Power Station on Lake Macquarie, NSW -  Awarded the 2009 Frost & Sullivan Australia and New Zealand Customer Service Leadership Award for Automation and Software solutions in the mining industry -  Awarded the contract for a Yokogawa FA-M3 programmable controller to be installed in the Australian National University's 'Big Dish' solar thermal concentrator, the prototype for a base load solar thermal power plant to be built in South Australia -  Established an office in the Taranaki region of New Zealand. Yokogawa New Zealand now has offices in Auckland, Christchurch and New Plymouth

-  Awarded the contract to replace the control and instrumentation systems at Section B of the Torrens Island Power Station, Australia's largest gas-fired power station, owned by AGL Energy Limited -  Awarded the contract to replace the control system in the Northwest Sanderling, a vessel used to ship liquefied natural gas from WA’s North West Shelf to Japanese and other Asian customers. The scope of work includes engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning services. The Northwest Sanderling is operated by NWSS, a Perth-based company jointly owned by Woodside, BP, BHP Billiton, Shell, MIMI and Chevron -  Yokogawa named as the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Distributed Control System Company of the Year due to outstanding performance of our DCS across the Asia Pacific region, high market share in the Asia Pacific DCS market, high quality engineering support and service, competitive price and strong customer base -  Awarded control system contract for the Innamincka Power Project Stage 1 being developed by Geodynamics - the first Hot Fractured Rocks geothermal power plant to be built in Australia -  Awarded 2008 Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Leadership in DCS in Australia and New Zealand -  Awarded contract to supply the DCS and boiler management system for the Condamine Power Station project in Queensland -  Yokogawa releases CENTUM VP, the 8th generation of its flagship CENTUM DCS. CENTUM VP is a control system that integrates plant information management, asset management and operation support functions

-  Awarded ICMS contract for Flinders Power’s Northern Power Station in Port Augusta, SA -  Awarded contract for safety system at Shell’s Clyde refinery -  Awarded contract for the distributed control system for the Boddington gold mine expansion project, WA, which will become the third largest gold mine in the world -  Yokogawa releases the Lifecycle Management Program, an integrated package of solution services that optimises maintenance by tailoring it to the customer’s equipment lifecycle -  Yokogawa Australia’s project at Loy Yang power station in Victoria wins a PACE Zenith award for excellence

-  Awarded ICMS contract for the refurbishment of the Loy Yang ‘A’ power station in Morwell, Vic – the state’s largest generator of electricity -  Awarded contract to modernise the control systems of the Energy Brix plant in Morwell, Vic -  Awarded ICMS contract for the Bluewaters power station in Collie, WA -  Awarded contract for ICMS at Wesfarmers CSBP ammonium nitrate and prilling plant at Kwinana, WA -  Awarded contract for ICMS for HIsmelt’s direct reduction of iron ore plant, Kwinana, WA -  Yokogawa introduces consolidated alarm management software (CAMS) for human interface stations (HIS), the world’s first alarm management solution to utilise the CAMS concept -  Yokogawa Australia’s work at Eraring Power Station wins a Highly Commended award for engineering excellence from Engineers Australia

-  Yokogawa introduces the Vigilant Plant concept for plant operations -  Australian head office and the NSW/ACT branch relocated to Macquarie Park, Sydney -  Awarded the contracts to supply controls and instrumentation for Barrick Gold, Cowal Gold Mine, NSW -  Established offices in Adelaide, SA to support and service South Australian and Northern Territory markets

-  Awarded the contract to supply controls and instrumentation for Newcrest Mining, Telfer Gold Mine, WA -  Awarded the contract to supply controls and instrumentation for Origin Energy, Bass Gas project

-  Awarded the contract from New Zealand Refining Company [NZRC] to provide a hazardous area approved Yokogawa FieldEye CCTV system -  Appointed Trio Test and Measurement Solutions as Yokogawa’s Test and Measurement distributor in Australia (excluding WA) -  Awarded the contract to supply controls and instrumentation for the Burrup Fertiliser Plant, WA

-  Awarded major refurbishment ICMS contract for Eraring Energy, Eraring Power Station, NSW [4 x 660MW, coal fired]

-  Yokogawa’s Global Power Solutions Centre established at Yokogawa Australia to pursue and implement power industry solutions worldwide -  Gained ISO 9001: 2000 QA accreditation from Lloyds of London and established environmental and OH&S guidelines -  Established offices in Christchurch, NZ to support and service the South Island of New Zealand

-  Awarded major refurbishment contract (in alliance with Macquarie Generation and Ralph M Lee) for Macquarie Generation, Liddell Power Station, NSW [4 x 500MW, coal fired] -  Acquired Measurementation Australia Pty Ltd [analyser system integration business] to form a new analytical systems business division -  Awarded the contracts to supply controls and instrumentation for Newcrest Mining, Cadia and Ridgeway Gold Mine, NSW

-  Awarded Pha Lai Power Station Power Station Project, Vietnam [via Stone & Webster, USA] -  Yokogawa Australia acquired Paklog (NZ) distributor business in New Zealand and formed a wholly-owned New Zealand subsidiary known as Yokogawa New Zealand Ltd

-  Yokogawa’s New Zealand agent, Paklog (NZ), awarded instrumentation supply contract for the D5 spray dryer at Fonterra’s Te Rapa site

-  Awarded contracts as the principal control system provider to a range of major projects including: Minera Resources [formerly Anaconda Nickel] Murrin Murrin project, WA; Western Mining Corporation [WMC] Phosphate Hill, QLD; and Eastern Distributor Sydney, NSW

-  Gained ISO 9001 & ISO 9002 QA accreditation from Lloyds of London

-  Awarded control system upgrade at Pacific Power, Wallerawang Power Station, NSW [2 x 500MW coal fired]

-  Awarded three major refinery control system upgrade projects for Shell Geelong, Shell Clyde and Caltex Kurnell refineries

-  Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Japan acquired balance of shareholding in Parameters Pty Ltd to form 100% subsidiary known as Yokogawa Australia Pty Ltd

-  Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Japan started equity participation in Parameters Pty Ltd. Prior to this, Parameters distributed Yokogawa products in Australia
