Our Graduate Program
 |
|
| |
 |
 |
We know that the best way to enable graduates to have a deeper understanding of our industry and business and provide them with all the necessary tools for success is to begin with a program that will enable any graduate to achieve their full potential.
This is why our Graduate Program has been designed to ensure that our graduates are given every opportunity to get to know our business and our people. It’s why we have developed a program that provides all graduates with a better understanding of the business and with the best possible opportunity to excel in this industry.
Our Graduate Program is a great way to begin your career in engineering. It promotes development of the skills and knowledge helping you to be competitive in your choice of career path following completion of the program as well as giving you the chance to have a permanent position with the company.
We provide our graduates with:
• rotations through different parts of our business
• a trained and skill mentor
• comprehensive training that focuses on skills development
• regular feedback on performance
• Opportunities to network with other graduates and with more experienced engineers working for Yokogawa.
Our Graduate Program will give you the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills that you have gained at university. We will help you settle into your new job and provide you with a dynamic work environment and a diverse and challenging career.

Program Features
Rotations
The program is structured into four 6-monthly rotations. Graduates will spend time working in each of our four business units.
The first rotation will be in either the Engineering or Technical Services business unit. This will provide graduates with “hands-on” experience, enabling them to visit customer and project sites and Yokogawa products and systems at work.

 |
Mentoring
All graduates are matched with a trained mentor when they commence the Graduate Program. The mentor that is assigned to the graduate supports them throughout the entire two year program.
Our trained mentors assist graduates to:
• settle into the organisation
• acquire confidence
• get feedback from someone other than their line manager
• develop professional networks within the company
• Reflect upon their experiences.
The many benefits of mentoring include the following:
• Increased skills and knowledge
• Increases potential for career mobility and promotion
• Improved understanding of their roles in the organisation
• Insights into the culture of the organisation
• Network opportunities

Training
We are strong believers that in order for graduates to reach their full potential and become the leaders of the future, we need to provide them with a good foundation. This includes offering them all the training they need.
All of our graduates participate in a number of in-house training programmes on Yokogawa products and systems. Our specialist training department will also offer graduates an overview of the process control/industrial automation industry and an introduction to our company.
|
Performance Feedback
There is no question that performance feedback is a crucial aspect of a successful graduate program. We have built a formal structure that ensures that graduates receive regular feedback from their manager.
In each of the rotations, gradates are given a detailed specification of the objectives for the rotation, so they are know what to expect and what is expected of them.
|
Networking
We believe that it’s important that all of our graduates get the best support possible as they transition from university life into the professional workforce. As part of our Graduate Program we have included several events that bring all the graduates from around Australia together.
These events provide graduates with an opportunity to:
• share their experiences
• talk about the challenges that they are experiencing
• Broaden their internal support.
