Replica Simulators

A full scope replica simulator closely simulates the reference plant configuration, control system, operator interface and information systems.

Depending on the method of simulation there are basically two types of replica simulators:

Replica power plant simulators with emulated controls and Human Interface System (HIS)

In emulation type simulator the functions of the reference plant control system and HIS (operator interface) are simulated using alternative or equivalent off-the-shelf open systems hardware and software and screen-based graphics systems to reproduce the HIS functions

Replica power plant simulators with stimulated controls and HIS

In the stimulation type the control system and the HIS are simulated by using the same control system and HIS as in the reference plant (The hardware and software for the HIS and control system are actually the same as in the real plant)

Generic Simulators

The generic simulator range includes simulators with a variety of typical power plant arrangements, control system designs and operator controls and information systems.

They permit training of operators in general principles of plant operations and control, and with the range of plant configurations available, can be supplied in a form very similar to the actual plant of the customer. All parts of the plant are included with the exception of duplicate circuits and auxiliaries, which are of no significance to training.

• Generic conventional coal fired power plant simulator

Generic 660MW Coal Fired Subcritical Power Plant Simulator

• Generic combined cycle gas turbine power plant simulator
