History
The company was founded in Japan in 1915. Initially Yokogawa developed a range of electrical measuring instruments, specifically watt meters. This rapidly developed into a broad range of instruments known to day as Test & Measurement Instrumentation.

Fifty years ago the need to record the data obtained from these measuring instruments was recognized, leading rapidly to the further expansion of Yokogawa's instrumentation capability. Today Yokogawa is one of the world's leading manufacturers of recorders and data acquisition systems.

During the second part of this century the concepts of automated process control began to flourish. Yokogawa pioneered many of the fundamental concepts used throughout the world today.

The business of process automation is one where Yokogawa is recognized as a truly global manufacturer and supplier through the inherent quality of its product portfolio, and the use of national and international expertise.

Nowadays Yokogawa employs over 27.000 people world-wide, in 20 manufacturing centers and over 250 sales and service offices.

The European headquarters were founded in the Netherlands in 1982. Throughout Europe Yokogawa has its own sales, service and engineering operations.
