To make it easier to operate and monitor the CENTUM CS 3000 R3, various enhancements have been made to the HIS windows. These include the following:

[ Tuning Window ]
|
|
In order to help persons who are not familiar with Yokogawa CENTUM terms, the balloon help feature with a tooltip is added to explain items displayed in the operation and monitoring windows. When the cursor hovers over an abbreviation of a data item such as MODE, ALARM, or HH in the tuning window, a tooltip popup appears that gives the full name of the data item.

[ Trend Window ]
|
|
The trend acquisition pen assignment can be changed on an HIS instead of a dedicated engineering PC. The trend acquisition pen assignment builder can be activated directly from the HIS trend window to change the trend pen assignment. The changed configuration is saved as master data. Permission to perform this operation in the trend window can be restricted by applying the HIS user's privilege level to each trend window. |

[ Instrument Faceplate ]
|
|
To make operation easier, clicking the block mode area on the instrument faceplate displays a pull-down block mode (MAN/ AUT / CAS / RCAS / PRD / ROUT) selection menu. The block modes on the pull-down menu are user-definable. Moreover, the user can also select the dialog type for changing the block mode.

In order to give CENTUM operators a better grasp of the real-time status of the field devices and the field alarms, the HMIs for Plant Resource Manager (PRM) and CENTUM have been integrated.

In order to allow CENTUM operators to immediately view the details of the maintenance alarms of the field devices, as well as the alarm backgrounds and device status in detail, the PRM Device Viewer can be called from a CENTUM HIS right after a field device alarm is notified to the HIS.

First-In Trip Trigger Type Report Added
|
|
Up till now, a trip report on events in both the pre- and post-trip intervals has been output based on a user-defined trip trigger. With the addition of the first-in trip trigger type, a trip report on events only in the post-trip interval can now be output by handling the first trip event after SOE server starts as the trip trigger. The trip event following the last event in the report is handled as the trip trigger for the next report.

Support of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Workgroup Edition
|

In order to introduce the SEM capability in a cost effective manner, the SOE server can be established on a PC using the Workgroup Edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The SOE server PC with the Workgroup Edition can run under Windows XP.
