Recently many customers have been requiring suppliers to take measures to facilitate the disposal of packing materials for the products they receive. Yokogawa, which has already started using pulp mold and film cushions to lessen the impact of packing materials on the environment, has also started offering returnable container delivery service for shipping in Japan. If requested, an electromagnetic or vortex flow meter whose net weight is 25 kilograms (55 pounds) or less is packed in a returnable container for delivery to the customer. This service relieves customers from the headache and cost of disposing the cardboard box and packing cushions. After receiving the product, customers can simply have the empty container and packing cushions picked up by the nearest branch of the contracted transportation courier service (Sagawa Courier, Japan) to return them to Yokogawa free of charge.
