In recognition of the Kofu Plant's outstanding improvements in energy efficiency, the Director General of the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry awarded it the Excellence in Energy Management award on February 4, 2003.
The following five measures have greatly raised energy efficiency during the last three years:

Integration of high-voltage transformers through data analysis of annual power consumption by a centralized power monitoring system |

Use of inverter-driven lighting equipment |

Installation of a new light-through solar power system |
