Interview with Timon Padberg
After his electrical engineering studies at the Eindhoven Teacher Training Institute of Technology, Timon Padberg (36) first worked as a technical teacher for an American company. He started at Yokogawa Amersfoort in 2001 as Account Manager. A year later he moved to Yokogawa System Center Europe in Apeldoorn where he has worked since then, with pleasure, as Sales Manager Nordic Area.
“I really enjoy it at Yokogawa. It is a solid “Dutch” company although there is a considerable Japanese influence in the business operations. Yokogawa envisions growth for the future in a solid Japanese way: step by step and always after careful consideration.
The foundation of thinking in terms of quality in every business process can also be found in the Japanese business culture. It is ingrained into every layer of our company. Every one of us lives and breathes it. The customer really is our focus.”
Timon finds his working environment enjoyable and inspiring. According to him it is partly because of the gradual growth. “Our branch is continually in motion and in development and that makes the work extra interesting and dynamic.
In addition, my work brings me to many different places and countries. No, travelling is not a problem for me. It is actually enjoyable and inspiring to work together with people from other countries and cultures”.
Timon really supports the relocation of the three Dutch sites. “Now we can profile even better and further increase our familiarity. It is beneficiary that much more people know our name in relation to our achievements all over the world.
We still gain too little publicity. We are still too modest. Fortunately, that is changing. We appear at more and more exhibitions and we are organising promotional tours more often. Recently we were at an exhibition in Norway for the offshore branch and at the same time there was a roadshow through Scandinavia.
That was enjoyable to do and it also provided a lot of new contacts. Because in an exhibition like that and in such a roadshow you can really show what Yokogawa has to offer!”
