Op dit moment maakt ons SCADA pakket FAST/TOOLS gebruik van drivers voor Modbus, Siemens S7, etc.., die geschreven zijn in C code. De strategie voor de komende jaren voor het FAST/TOOLS SCADA pakket is dat meer en meer code naar Java wordt omgezet. De opdracht zal bestaan uit een onderzoek hoe de bestaande Modbus driver het meest efficiënt omgezet kan worden naar Java gevolgd door de implementatie en test van de Java Modbus driver.
