Yokogawa Europe Solutions, based in Amersfoort, is looking for a student who wants to do his/ her internship/ final project at Yokogawa.

The Application Engineering department within Yokogawa is building SCADA and Data Historian systems mainly for the oil and gas industry. Within this department we have the possibility for the following project:

Data Historian reporting

The goal of this project is to identify reusable reports that are common to all our data historian projects and make these projects available via our intranet to our Yokogawa colleagues.
You will make an investigation of the reports created within the various projects. A data historian report is often used in the business domain for analysis of real time production data like:
  • Optimization the controlled process
  • Optimization of maintenance
  • Environmental reporting
  • Production reporting
Yokogawa is using ExaQuantum as the data historian system. A data historian system is normally located in the business domain and stores huge amounts of production and process data for a long period of time (e.g. many years). This production data is originating from the process control system located in the real time domain. The process can be a pipeline, refinery, LNG terminal, etc.. The data historian system does not have a direct influence on the process control system.
The reporting environment is based on Excel in combination with VisualBasic.NET programming and from the student is expected that he is up to speed with these technologies.
Beside your work in the reports you are participating in on one of our international data historian projects in the oil and gas industry.

Project schedule:
  • Training ExaQuantum product and related data historian engineering.
  • Identify the reports as used in the various projects.
  • Define the general usable reports.
  • Remove the project specific functions from the reports.
  • Document the reports and make them available on our intranet.
