For Yokogawa System Center Europe, based in Apeldoorn (The Netherlands), we seek:
SCADA Lead Engineer (M/F)
You will be part of the Engineering department which is part of the Process Industry Solutions group of Yokogawa. This group has a strong focus on supplying intelligent added value solutions to our clients in the Process Industry with a focus on the Upstream Oil & Gas markets.
Once an order has been received by Sales the order is handed over to the engineering department where a project team is formed. The project team is headed by a Project Manager in close cooperation with the Lead Engineer. You being the Lead Engineer are technically responsible for delivering the most optimum technical solution to our client. You are also the technical focal point for our client. For small projects you will build the SCADA system mostly by yourself, for bigger projects You together with a small team of engineers will build the SCADA system or a part of the SCADA system. You maintain frequent contact with clients, suppliers and/or contractors within the Netherlands and internationally and with all the departments within Yokogawa. You also pay regular visits to your client. Your technical knowledge is the guiding principle for correct implementation of the project.
Job
- Translating the client requirements into a Functional Design of the system;
- Leading a small team of engineers to implement a system or part of the system;
- Engineering, implementation and testing of the system;
- Maintaining contact with the client on a technical level;
- Create project documentation like test plans, manuals, etc..;
- Report to the project manager;
- Advise the client regarding technical solutions;
- Participate in the site installation of the system;
- Provide Sales support;
- Introduce and/or preserve the standard of the quality systems.
Profile
- A team player who always puts Yokogawa and its solutions in the best possible light, in contacts both within and outside the company;
- An unbridled interest in the cutting edge of the process industry, computerization and SCADA;
- Several years of experience in a SCADA project-based working environment, preferably in the Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and/or Power business;
- A motivator and communicator able to communicate easily based on knowledge and experience;
- Used to work in a multi-disciplinary environment where hardware, software and process knowledge is required;
- Used to work under pressure with tight deadlines;
- Successfully completed Higher Technical Education;
- Fluent in written and spoken English;
- Willing to travel worldwide.
