Yokogawa announces the release of a new problem solving pH combination sensor for a wide variety of applications.
The Model PH20 is nicknamed 'Tempress' for its patented compensation for changes in the process temperature and pressure. This newest "all-in-one" sensor offers users the convenience of a low cost, wide body design, but with enhanced features allowing it to be used in many applications where previous combination sensors were not suited.
Patented Temperature and Pressure Compensation
This simple yet unique mechanical design feature makes the sensor more accurate with longer life in applications where varying temperature and pressure can destroy conventional sensors. The compensation panels flex to accommodate process changes, avoiding large differential pressures across the sensor reference diaphragm. This helps prevent most problems associated with the reference junction. It also reduces the possibility for "pumping the junction" and the consequential depletion of the internal filling solution, thus extending sensor life and reducing poisoning problems.
Chemical Resistant Construction
The Model PH20 is manufactured from chemically resistant PVDF, which makes it suitable for many applications where aggressive chemicals can damage or destroy other sensors. This all-in-one sensor has elements for measurement of pH, ORP (redox) and temperature. The reference system includes a double junction design with a gelled electrolyte to combat poisoning of the internal reference element. The Platinum electrode serves both as the measuring element for ORP measurements, and as the solution ground electrode.
Installation Flexibility
The body has been designed with parallel threads and O-ring seals for both the front and back ends of the sensor. This approach allows the use of simple adapters and standard plumbing accessories for a variety of in-line, by-pass and immersion assemblies.
Diagnostics
As with all other Yokogawa sensors and electrodes, the model PH20 has been designed to allow you to take advantage of the extensive diagnostic capabilities of the Yokogawa EXA instruments. The key to quality process control is assuring that all measurement information is accurate and reliable. The diagnostic features of Yokogawa pH instruments provide users with clear information concerning the status of the PH20 on-line, assuring that the instrument is reliable.
