Power Viewer Application Software Package for PZ4000

Yokogawa Europe announces the release of Power Viewer, an application software package for the PZ4000. The Power Viewer software package allows for the displaying and analysing of measurement data that has been transferred from the power analyser PZ4000 via communication (GP-IB, RS-232), Zip disk, MO disk, or external hard disk drive to a personal computer.

With this software it is possible to analyse and edit measurement data on a personal computer, from up to four PZ4000 power analysers at any time. Furthermore, measurement data can easily be used in reports, as data can be converted to CSV format or saved as a BMP file.

Main Features
Previously, the memory size of 100 kwords enabled only 2 mathematical functions (MATH) to be performed on the PZ4000. Power Viewer allows up to 4 Mwords of data calculations. It can be set to perform a maximum of 16 types of MATH calculations simultaneously and supports MATH calculations between different channels as well as evaluation of numerous calculation items. Furthermore, Power Viewer allows simultaneous measurement with up to 4 PZ4000s via GP-IB communication. This software can perform comparisons and calculations of measurement data from up to 4 analysers at a time (only one analyser in the case of RS-232).

Next to that, Power Viewer includes the feature for displaying time series trends of measurement values. This trend display feature allows users to confirm changes over time per period for up to 8 types of measurement data as well as calculation data. It allows measurement of parameter values, features waveform zoom display and X-Y display and it measures various parameters such as V, A and W, and can show expanded views of waveforms. Furthermore, it features an X-Y display, helpful for evaluating speed-torque characteristics. Finally, it can convert data to CSV-format or save them as an image in a BMP file.
