Amersfoort, The Netherlands -
August 10, 2001 Yokogawa Wins Contract in Saudi Aramco for Haradh Gas Facilities Yokogawa Industrial Safety Systems (YISS) in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands has won a major million dollar contract from Saudi Aramco for the Haradh Gas Facilities SCADA project to install FAST/TOOLS, safety PLC and third party hardware including Bristol Babcock RTU's with site installation and commissioning work. "The order is both a continuation of good business relationships to Saudi Aramco of FAST/TOOLS systems as well as a major extension, as this is the first time that the RTU's and safety PLC's have been ordered as part of the total system from the same supplier. A good indication that Saudi Aramco is satisfied both with Yokogawa technology and Yokogawa project handling capabilities," says Ton Bos, Managing Director of YISS. The FAST/TOOLS package is a system package for operations control and information integration with business systems. It has been developed by YISS over the past twenty years by combining their expertise in Supervisory Control And Data Acquistion (SCADA) with requirements from users and industry leaders. The duration of the project will be approximately over two years and will involve the phased delivery of stand-alone automation systems all supervised by a high availability SCADA system. It will be the first Saudi Aramco FAST/TOOLS system to be delivered running under Windows 2000 -previous systems are running under Unix - and the first delivery of safety PLC's to Aramco.
