Yokogawa Europe B.V today announced the appointment of Mr.Harry Hauptmeijer to President of Yokogawa Europe B.V. Mr. Hauptmeijer will succeed Ir. Hans Dik who will be retiring after more than 37 years in the industry. In the 12 years with Yokogawa, Mr.Dik has been responsible for the development and growth of Process Automation Systems business in Europe and in August 1999, he became one of the few non-Japanese presidents of a Japanese company situated in The Netherlands. Mr. Dik will continue to handle special projects on a consultancy basis reporting to Yokogawa Electric Corporation management.
The appointment of Mr Hauptmeijer, effective October 1st 2002, is again evidence of the confidence that Yokogawa has put in having a non-Japanese head up one of its main overseas affiliates.
Mr Hauptmeijer (53) has more than 30 years experience in the international markets with Foxboro, Gavazzi, and the last 10 years with Yokogawa. Mr.Hauptmeijer has been active in container and carrier ship automation, however for most of his active career Mr Hauptmeijer has worked in process control serving the Oil and Gas, Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries. Specifically in computer and DCS systems design and development, project management, engineering, installation and start up throughout Europe and in China. Sales experience came from Product Sales Management in The Netherlands, and setting up a sales network in the USA, Singapore and Hong Kong. Over a period of 20 years Mr.Hauptmeijer gained company and operational management experience working for Yokogawa and previous employers in France, Germany and The Netherlands.
Mr.Hauptmeijer has a degree in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.
