Release Yokogawa SCADA package FAST/TOOLS version 8.3

FAST/TOOLS version 8.3 introduces improved capabilities for the current release FAST/TOOLS v8.2, as well as providing a number of new strategic features and enhancements. The FAST/TOOLS package is Yokogawa's distributed Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. It is a leading standard system package for SCADA systems and is available on a wide range of industry standard computer systems. FAST/TOOLS has been developed over the past twenty-five years by combining our expertise in SCADA with requirements from users and leaders of industry.
New Product Features
FAST/Start
FAST/Start is a variation of the FAST/TOOLS HMI USER/FAST, intended to simplify and speed up system development. This decreasing your learning curve significantly. This result is minimum configuration for the user and faster and simpler system development. FAST/Start contains a number of predefined definitions and wizards, meant to further speed-up the configuration of the system. Any configuration made with FAST/Start is compatible with the full HMI.
Support for STARDOM FCx controller
As of this release, the FAST/TOOLS product is capable of interfacing with the STARDOM FCJ and FCN controllers. The FCx driver is available as standard in the FAST/TOOLS product.
In the FAST/Start environment there is a driver Wizard available for the FCx driver. The STARDOM FCx driver is configured in a few mouse clicks.
OPC Alarm & Event Client
Beside the already available OPC DA server and client and OPC AE server, with this release of FAST/TOOLS, the OPC implementation is now extended with the OPC Alarm & Event client.
With the OPC AE client, FAST/TOOLS can access (third party) OPC Alarm & Event servers. The information is mapped upon FAST/ TOOLS items to making this information automatically available to other FAST/TOOLS functions e.g. with the Alarm Management module ALARM/FAST.
As with the implementation of the FAST/TOOLS OPC DA client, the FAST/TOOLS OPC AE client can be configured off-line, that is without having a connection with an OPC AE server. As usual, both the FAST/TOOLS HMI as well as the quickload functionality can be used for this purpose.
Playback
Playback is new functionality to allow a user to view historical data through operator displays. The same operator displays that are used to control the system can be used with playback. This gives the appearance of viewing the system as it appeared some time in the past. There are many uses for this functionality such as finding problems or training operators using events that happen in the past.
With printer management it is possible to define the FAST/TOOLS printer configuration from the HMI.
Printer management supports printer output via:
- A printer queue
- An application
- A file on disk
Additional features include:
- Ability to change FAST/TOOLS printer configuration on-line.
- Ability to define backup devices for a printer destination, which will be used when the main device is unavailable.
- Ability to add printer destinations, for sending reports to different locations.
- List of current device statuses and print jobs.
- Indicate printer device status via an item.
FAST/TOOLS Monitor
This utility allows the performance of your FAST/TOOLS system to be monitored. This utility is only available on Windows platforms. Via the FAST/TOOLS monitor, users can obtain e.g. the following information:
- General FAST/TOOLS system attributes like: system-name, node name, node-number and FAST/TOOLS version number.
- An overview of the FAST/TOOLS version installed and licensed. In addition to this information, it is indicated whether the TOOL is currently running or not.
- An overview of the status of each of the individual FAST/TOOLS processes and some massage event information, an overview of FAST/TOOLS processes.
