Yokogawa Europe establishes branch office in Norway to support oil and gas activities in North West Europe

Yokogawa Europe has established Yokogawa Norge, a branch office in Norway, that will support the company’s activities in the North West European offshore oil and gas sector.

Yokogawa is a global leader in industrial automation, and has been actively supplying to and supporting major projects in the North Sea for some 30 years. Current installed projects include offshore platform control and safety systems as well as SCADA networks controlling and monitoring multiple operations and fields.

“Norway has a flourishing economy with strong investments in the oil and gas industry involving all the major oil and gas companies,” comments Will de Groot, Yokogawa’s North West Europe Manager and Managing Director of Yokogawa System Center Europe: “The new office will enable us to support our Norwegian customers and the European offshore market better and faster with reliable and fully integrated solutions, allowing us to expand our already strong position in the global market of industrial automation for the offshore sector.”

Yokogawa Norge is located in Sola, close to Stavanger, and will focus its activities on integrated control and safety systems and associated services to the Norwegian offshore market.

With the opening of the new office, Yokogawa completes its North West Europe offshore ‘triangle,’ which also includes the Aberdeen office in Scotland and the System Center Europe in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. The Aberdeen Office is part of Yokogawa United Kingdom Ltd., which has its main office in Runcorn, Cheshire, and another office in London.

Yokogawa is now well placed to support the offshore industry with local presence in Stavanger, Aberdeen, Runcorn and Apeldoorn with solid project execution capability backed up by over 200 engineers.

Yokogawa Norge will work in close co-operation with Leif Kølner Ingeniørfirma, a company in Tønsberg, Norway, that has 40 years of experience in delivering and servicing the Yokogawa instrumentation portfolio in the Norwegian market.
