YOKOGAWA MAREX "EXAQUANTUM" NEW GENERATION PIMS AT C&I 99
Unprecedented functionality from Windows NT platform and
Windows analysis and reporting module to optimise operations and maximise profits

"Exaquantum", from Yokogawa Marex Technology Ltd, of Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK, the latest release of its world industry standard Plant Information Management System (PIMS), will be at "C&I 99" at the NEC, 11-14 May.

A massive step forward in functionality, "Exaquantum" is one of the most comprehensive Integrated Information Management Systems available for process industries and is unlimited in the size and complexity of the process or plant which it can manage. It also offers unprecedented ease of use and flexibility.

"Exaquantum" is the first of the next generation of PIMS, setting a new industry standard. Yokogawa Marex PIMS are installed in large plants all over the world and "Exaquantum" will take system functionality into wholly new areas. Key features of this release are:

  • Specifically designed for use on new industry standard Windows NT platforms. Wholly rewritten and fully developed-in-depth, not just ported, "Exaquantum" gives access to the full range of facilities offered by Windows NT, including all the standard open interfaces, giving a huge increase in flexibility and application.
  • Full business object oriented functionality allowing managers and operators to exchange information instantaneously.
  • Infinite number of Process Control System (PCS) points, and Windows-format Exaquantum/Explorer analysis and reporting module, giving unprecedented power and access. Plant data can be acquired from PCS (DCS,PLC,etc), laboratory systems, sampling systems, maintenance systems, stock, ERP and any other systems, generally achieved through industry standard interfaces. These data are processed and combined to produce high value business information. The integration of business information with plant derived data elevates Exaquantum above other PIM type packages, providing a complete business oriented, real-time, information management system.

Windows technology gives operators an incredibly simple user interface, allowing plant personnel to extract business and process information without the need for any programming knowledge, leading to enhanced efficiency, economy and reliability. Exaquantum has a very clear business-directed focus, providing a complete solution from the control system through to the enterprise resource planning level. It is a core technology in the Yokogawa Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS) concept, and provides industry with powerful information management covering both the business and the process control domains. It eliminates the gap between business systems and process control by integrating information to match complex business requirements.

Exaquantum Integrated Information Management Systems form the basis of Plant Information Management Systems (PIMS) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), providing business benefits to a wide range of world industries. This is achieved by integrating data from all facets of the business and transforming these into usable, high-value business information as part of the enterprise's vital decision support toolset.

Yokogawa Marex Technology is the software development company of the Yokogawa Corporation of Japan and is committed to constant innovation; development of Exaquantum is paralleled by more Yokogawa Marex research which will result in further world-leading releases. Yokogawa Marex provides system integration for its own and other manufacturer's systems.
