Yokogawa Marex of Cowes, UK, the global process control systems developer
and integrator, today (30 October 2004) announces major progress in the worldwide
release of the latest Batch version of its Exaquantum PIMS electronic plant
optimization technology.
Yokogawa Marex has made a number of sales of its Exaquantum /Batch Plant Information
Management System (PIMS). Beta testing of the software has been completed and
the customer implementations of this highly advanced product are progressing
well.
Several of the implementations are in the pharmaceutical environment, and the
21 CFR Part 11 certification process is making swift progress in this situation.
The assessors have been impressed with the automatic verification of the data,
the tight integration with the DCS and the transparency of the software.
Designed to provide high-value batch process and business information for the
chemical and pharmaceutical industries, Exaquantum/Batch is an important part
of the company's global electronic Realtime Manufacturing (e.RM TM)
program to provide superfunctionality and reduce process engineering costs.
Exaquantum/Batch offers full conformity with open standards batch technology
(Fieldbus/OPC).
The first phase of implementations is on schedule to be completed in the first
quarter of 2005, when comprehensive details of the application and the business
benefits will be available.
