EXAQUANTUM PIMS TOPS 400

Yokogawa Marex of Cowes, Isle of Wight, the Global Manufacturing Excellence Solutions (MES) Centre (GMSC) for the Yokogawa Group, today (31 January 2005) announces the sale of its 400th Exaquantum PIMS system.

Yokogawa's market-leading and functionally rich Exaquantum plant information management system (PIMS) has reached another milestone - its 400th customer license. With its ability to provide complete turnkey services from sensors to full MES solutions, Yokogawa is the supplier of choice for many customers and industries worldwide.

New Exaquantum installations include Shell Norco in the USA, Shell Nanhai in China, Shell Clyde & Geelong Refineries in Australia, the Jubail United Petrochemical Company (JUPC) in Saudi Arabia, the Sohar Refinery in Oman and Eraring Energy in Australia. Consequently, Exaquantum now has a significant worldwide PIMS prescence.

Exaquantum PIMS provides the core system for other Yokogawa packages including Exaquantum/Batch, Exaquantum/SER sequence of events recorder and Exaspot oil and gas process optimizer.

Nigel Bowden, MD of GMSC says "Exaquantum is going from strength to strength as shown by the significant number of orders being received and we expect to receive our 500th order in June 2005. With many old plants now being retro-fitted with new control systems to provide greater efficiency and return on investment, it is not surprising that so many top international companies have chosen Exaquantum as their platform of choice."
