Introduction to VisaOM

Visa OM is a model-based software application designed to track fluid movements across oil and chemical plant. Incorporating mass balancing techniques Visa OM interprets raw measurements and other data in terms of movements of material inside the refinery. Visa OM is able to accurately track movements, even when there are multiple flows in and out of individual tanks. Visa OM records data on material stocks, material movements and equipment usage.

Visa OM provides operators with accurate live information on the material movements between tanks and other process units. A comprehensive alarm system is provided to warn operators of abnormal and hazardous operations. Using Visa OM operators can supervise the equipment safely, accurately and productively. Information can be output in reports for use by human or computer systems.

The system readily interfaces with any external systems installed on a site including DCS, PIMS, LIMS, PLC, ERP, MRP, etc.

• Although developed for use in oil refineries, Visa OM is applicable in any plant handling fluid materials.
• The model-based construction of Visa OM gives it significant advantages over simpler systems.
• Visa OM is particularly designed to operate in refineries where full automation of all pumps and valves does not exist.
