Because of the flexible system architecture the ProSafe-PLC can be configured to fit a variety of requirements for safety integrity levels and availability. The figure below shows the Safety Integrity Levels (SILs) by which the systems are rated. The ProSafe-PLC covers SIL 1-3 and TÜV AK1-6, while ProSafe-SLS includes the SIL 4, or TÜV AK 7 classification.
Note: The SIL levels are determined by calculation and include the field devices, based on the IEC 61508/61511 standard. The TÜV-AK classes are a qualitative assessment considering only the Safety Instrumented System , based on DIN 19250V.
