ProSafe-PLC trainer

Objectives
Enable ProSafe-PLC system users to operate, maintain and modify the system. The course will outline the system's safety features and provide the opportunity, through hands-on exercises, to configure the system.

Audience
Process engineers, process control engineers, maintenance and technical support personnel.

Duration
The course duration is 4 days.

Prerequisites
Fundamental knowledge of computers and a working knowledge of MS-Windows. Fundamental knowledge of electronics and Boolean logic.

Schedule

Day 1:

  • Welcome and course introduction.
  • ProSafe-PLC hardware.
  • Exercise: ProSafe-PLC hardware familiarization.
  • Introduction to PLC SET.
  • Exercise: Off-line system module tree configuration.
  • Exercise: I/O configuration.
Day 2:
  • Concepts of PLC SET and configuration hierarchy.
  • Exercise: PLC SET tour.
  • Creating a ProSafe-PLC configuration.
  • Exercise: Creating a configuration.
Day 3:
  • PLC SET features (menu).
  • Exercise: Using the features of PLC SET.
  • ProSafe-PLC default configuration.
  • Compare, select, logic and alarm blocks.
  • Timers & counters.
  • Exercise: Timers and counters.
Day 4:
  • Ladder Logic.
  • Exercise: Ladder logic configuration.
  • Move & communication function blocks.
  • Exercise: Move and communication.
  • Actions.
  • Fault finding and corrective maintenance.
  • Evaluation.
