ProSafe-PLC trainer

Objectives
Familiarise personnel with the maintenance aspects of safeguarding systems with emphasis on regular and breakdown maintenance.
Basic safety principles with respect to the normal operation of the system without violating basic safety requirements (prevention of personal injury, damage to the equipment, extra loss of production or environmental damage). In particular in the event of an (un)expected installation breakdown and returning the system to its original operating status.

Audience
Maintenance or service personnel who will be responsible for the daily operation and first-line maintenance activities of a safeguarding system in compliance with safety regulations and the IEC61508 standard.

Duration
Course duration is 3 days.

Prerequisites
Fundamental knowledge of computers and a working knowledge of MS-Windows.

Schedule

Day 1:

  • Welcome and course introduction.
  • ProSafe-PLC hardware.
  • Exercise: Hardware construction of a Node-to-Node System.
  • Refresher ProSafe-PLC Set (4-mation).
  • Exercise: Creation of a module tree.
  • Exercise: Fault finding, search, display real-time values, force signals, transfer.
Day 2:
    Multiple exercises:
  • down loading an application, navigate through the application.
  • Database compare.
  • Finding errors in typicals in combination with hardware.
  • On-line modification/replacement hardware.
  • Transfer from a real system to a control simulator (using import/export).
Day 3:
  • Diagnostic logger.
  • Exercise: Fault finding using the error log and D-logger. Several errors will be generated during the session.
  • Evaluation.
