Yokogawa Releases FieldMate™ The world’s first portable field device engineering and maintenance tool supporting both FDT and EDDL
On July 28, Yokogawa will start the shipment of FieldMateTM that helps the configuration and maintenance of intelligent field devices. The use of open interface Field Device Tool (FDT) technology facilitates the configuration and adjustment of field devices such as sensors and valves at production sites, regardless of the manufacturer or the communication protocols. Electronic device description language (EDDL) interface technology is also supported.
Demand for this kind of configuration software is increasing as field devices become more intelligent and digitalization of field communications moves forward. The growing number of device configuration parameters complicates initial configuration and daily maintenance of devices at production sites. Furthermore, since a variety of communication protocols and configuration methods are in use, users of field devices from multiple manufacturers have had to use different configurators and/or learn multiple configuration procedures. With its device navigation and device maintenance information management features, this software relieves users of these difficulties. This software is also as easy to operate as any standard Windows application.

Sales Release of Software Download Function Option and Addition of New Function Blocks for DPharp EJX Series Foundation Fieldbus Type
The EJX series Foundation Fieldbus type has the following new features:
- Software download function (option)
With this function, the firmware on Foundation Fieldbus type devices can be updated in the field without having to make changes to the amplifier board assembly.
- New function blocks
The following four function blocks have been installed, joining the AI and PID function blocks.
(1) Arithmetic function block (2) Integrator function block (3) Signal Characterizer function block (4) Input Selector function block
Furthermore, a discrete output signal which shows the high and low alarm statuses can be obtained from the AI function blocks, and the amplifier temperature can be monitored and output. Product information page

Features
- Easy to read and versatile display
The large, backlit full dot matrix LCD displays error messages and indicates the appropriate countermeasures when alarm conditions occur. Dialogue-based parameter setting can be done in multiple languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese).
- Adhesion diagnostics function
The amount of insulating material on the electrode is constantly monitored to determine when maintenance should be performed. The optional replaceable electrode is easy to remove and clean.
- Noise free
An enhanced dual frequency excitation method provides enhanced resistance to noise and enables highly stable measurements in difficult applications involving highly concentrated slurries and low conductivity fluids.
In addition, the newly designed AXF converter permits the measurement of fluids with conductivity as low as 1 micro-S/cm.

Product Launch of DPharp EJX Series Differential Pressure and Pressure Transmitters
Yokogawa has launched the first two models of the DPharp EJX Series, the EJX110A Differential Pressure Transmitter and the EJX430A Gauge Pressure Transmitter. The DPharp EJX Series employs a next-generation multi-sensing technology that provides a level of performance that is substantially superior to previous models.
Features
- Multi-sensing
The evolution of the silicon resonant sensor has enabled the simultaneous measurement of differential pressure and static pressure with a single sensor. This unique feature will have a major impact on the deployment of instrumentation.
- Superior Performance
The standard type delivers ±0.04% accuracy and a response time of 95 milliseconds. This unmatched performance will help to improve plant performance and productivity.
The EJX Series also introduces Total Accuracy, a pioneering concept that provides a comprehensive performance evaluation benchmark. Total Accuracy incorporates the conditions of the actual usage environment such as ambient temperature, static pressure, and overpressure that affect measurement accuracy.
- Proven Reliability
The EJX Series, in its standard configuration, is certified by TÜV as complying with Safety Integrity Level 2 (SIL 2).
