Stability & precision

1. Best-in-class performance
The ADMAG AXR is the world's first two-wire magnetic flowmeter to use the dual frequency excitation method, giving it best-in-class 0.5% accuracy and excellent stability in process measurement. This and other new technologies developed for the AXR give it the same level of noise immunity as a four-wire flowmeter, under a wide range of fluid conditions including light slurries.

With its best-in-class performance, the AXR meets all the requirements for use in control loops.

2. Key technologies
 
Dual frequency excitation method
  The dual frequency method successfully combines low- and high- frequency excitation for good stability and excellent noise resistance. With its ability to suppress process-generated noise, the AXR achieves zero stability without sacrificing response time. Dual frequency excitation method
 
AXR noise immunity technologies
  AXR employs the leading edge technologies to maximize the S/N (Signal/Noise) ratio with limited power supply to deliver 4-wire comparable premium performance.
 
(1) Super high density coil
  In order to increase the signal portion of the S/N ratio in the limited space, Yokogawa has developed the super high density coil winding technique. The AXR coil is perfectly aligned, and achieves the number of coil turns by 1.5 times compared to AXF. (It means 1.5 times signal increase).

(2) Mirror finished liner
  A rough lining surface can generate a turbulent flow near the electrodes, resulting in greater flow noise. The AXR employs a mirror finished liner with a smooth surface that reduces flow turbulence and thereby minimizes flow noise.

1. Reduced initial cost - compared to 4-wire (100 m cable)
The ADMAG AXR two-wire magnetic flowmeter has no need for a separate AC power source, drastically reducing the initial instrumentation cost.

2. Eco friendly
The two-wire flowmeter consumes just 1-4% as much power as a four-wire unit. In addition to significantly reducing operating costs, this makes possible a sharp reduction in greenhouse gas emissions:

With a 96% reduction in power consumption, annual CO2 emissions can be reduced from 46 kg to 1.2 kg.

User friendly HMI & intelligence

1. Full dot-matrix LCD display
The AXR full dot-matrix LCD displays a rich variety of information in English, German, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, or French. When an alarm message is displayed, information on countermeasures is also provided, eliminating the need to consult a manual.

2. Magnet switches
Magnet switches make it possible to change parameter settings without having to open the cover, protecting the flowmeter when it is used in a hazardous environment or an exposed outdoor location.

3. Rotatable converter housing
The AXR converter housing can be rotated from -140 degrees to +180 degrees for improved wiring and maintenance access and easy viewing of the LCD.

4. Electrode adhesion diagnosis
As a standard AXR feature, an off-line electrode adhesion diagnostic function is provided that detects the insulating material adhesion level on the electrodes and displays this information as shown below. This eliminates a manual method that involved removing the unit from the piping.
