Yokogawa America do Sul Ltda. participated in the Automation 2010 trade show, which was held November 9 -11 in São Paulo. This event is held annually in Brazil, and Yokogawa has participated every year.

The Yokogawa booth featured exhibits of our new ISA 100 compatible wireless instruments, CENTUM, ProSafe-RS, STARDOM, FA-M3R, and a variety of measurement instruments for both process and factory automation applications.

In all, 12,800 people attended the trade show and over 1,000 visited our booth. Of this total, 745 registered and left their business cards at the booth’s reception desk. Judging from the many enquiries that were received, there was great interest in our wireless instruments. Other Yokogawa brands such as CENTUM, ProSafe-RS, STARDOM, and FA-M3R also attracted considerable attention.

Most process automation companies, with the exception of Yokogawa, Honeywell, and Siemens, did not have a direct presence in this trade show, choosing instead to be represented by their agents. The absence of several major industry players was compensated by a strong turnout from Brazilian companies.

Larissa S. Severo and Flavio Michel Ramilli of Yokogawa America do Sul gave presentations at a Yokogawa seminar, with Ms. Severo speaking on the subject of “Human Machine Interface Oriented to Alarm Management” and Mr. Ramilli on “Industrial Automation Systems as Tools for Knowledge Management.” Both presentations were closely followed by the audience.

Yokogawa America do Sul’s salespeople have been very busy following up on all the enquiries that were received during the show, and it is expected that this will expand our business in Brazil.
