Yokogawa Participates in Offshore Europe 2011

Yokogawa Europe reports a highly successful participation in the Offshore Europe Conference and Exhibition in Aberdeen, UK, from September 6 to 8, 2011.

Offshore Europe is the leading international event targeted at the important North Sea oil and gas market, for which Yokogawa was demonstrating its state-of-the-art control and safety systems that provide a sophisticated automation platform to underpin sustained profitable operations and help to drive evolving production strategies.

Record attendance levels at Offshore Europe 2011 set a new benchmark, making it the largest conference and exhibition in the event’s history. A total of 14,633 people visited on day 1 of the show alone, a rise of 5% compared to the first day of 2009. Offshore Europe also had a larger exhibition area than ever before, covering a net area of more than 25,000 square meters. There were more than 1,500 exhibiting companies and pavilions representing countries from all over the world.

The Yokogawa exhibition area could not be missed as it was large and positioned close to the main entrance, and the company received over 300 serious inquiries during the course of the show. Yokogawa’s recently established North Sea team offers the ability to handle brownfield projects with support for customers throughout the lifecycle from centers in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Stavanger, Norway. Yokogawa is a preferred supplier to major offshore oil and gas companies, including Shell, BP, Chevron, and Total.

Key products featured at Offshore Europe included the new version (Release 5) of Yokogawa’s flagship CENTUM VP production control system, the ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system, and the latest field wireless solutions based on the ISA 100.11a standard. These are supported by a range of software tools including the Exapilot monitoring and control package, the Exaquantum information management system, and the CAMS alarm management system.

“We combine knowledge and expertise with renowned technologies which help to achieve optimum outcomes both in newly commissioned systems and in brownfield migration scenarios from the initial design stage through to a flawless changeover to efficient operation,” comments Will de Groot, Vice-President, Industrial Automation Sales & Marketing, Amersfoort, the Netherlands: “The North Sea is a core market for Yokogawa, and our investment and unique intellectual heritage in both the industrial automation and North Sea sectors positions us to deliver best-in-class automation solutions.”
