The 7th Yokogawa Australia User Group Conference has been rated an outstanding success by the Yokogawa customers that attended the event. Over 90% of the customers regarded the content, topics and format of the conference as being Good to Very Good.
The conference was held in Perth Western Australia between May 10th and 11th at the Perth Convention Centre on the banks of the Swan River. It was the first time that Yokogawa Australia had held its User Group Conference on the western side of the continent. The decision to hold it in Perth paid off as over half the attendees came from Western Australia and 66% were attending for the first time.

The conference was opened by Satoru Kurosu President of Yokogawa Engineering Asia who talked on the Yokogawa vision. Other presenters included Kazuhiro Makishima General Manager of International Sales Promotion Industrial Automation and Sng Hee Meng Executive Vice President from Yokogawa Singapore.

Users of Yokogawa products and systems also delivered presentations of their experiences in installing and operating Yokogawa product and services. These Users came from Newmont Mining, Chevron, Queensland Alumina, Eraring Energy and our distributor in Christchurch New Zealand, Industrial Controls. The conference covered topics under Yokogawa’s VigilantPlant’s Operational model of Production, Asset and Safety Excellence. The conference finished with a number of hands on workshops where customers could get more information on such products as FieldMate. In the foyer were working demonstrations of Yokogawa products. The simulation demonstration from Yokogawa Australia’s Power Services was particularly popular. The foyer displays also included information from our partner suppliers Pepperl & Fuchs and Matrox. The Managing Director of Yokogawa ANZ, Mr John Hewitt was “happy that we had greatly pleased 9 out of 10. It gives us a goal next time to please 10 out of 10! And already we know that 74% are coming back next time!”
