Newnan, GA - Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Japan, and Shell Global Solutions (US) Inc. announced today the formation of a cooperation arrangement to market Shell Global Solutions’ field-tested technology through Yokogawa’s global sales and engineering network. The two companies expect to work closely to enable Yokogawa to supply APC systems to its customers in the U.S.
Within the cooperative arrangement, Shell Global Solutions will assist Yokogawa with certain aspects of the design, installation and support of the technology for Yokogawa customers in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry as well as operators of petrochemical and chemical processing plants. The companies will strive to continually upgrade and enhance the technology.

Shell Global Solutions’ innovative APC technologies such as the Multivariable Optimizing Controller, COAST (Control Application Standards) and RQE (Robust Quality Estimator) are already noted for their operational reliability and cost-effectiveness.

Yokogawa Corporation of America has set up a solutions center in Stafford, Texas, to service the North American markets. The company already has similar centers of excellence in Japan, Singapore, Middle East, Asia, China, Australasia and Europe.
