Newnan, Georgia - Yokogawa announced today that it has released its Plant Resource Manager ™ (PRM) 2.10. PRM is Yokogawa’s value-added asset management software that integrates and manages maintenance information from field instruments, monitors online conditions, and records historical data.

PRM enables users to remotely access devices that feature field communication capability -- such as FOUNDATION fieldbus™- and HART-enabled devices -- as well as perform centralized management of the parameters of those devices. These functions provide efficient management and maintenance of field devices and computerization of maintenance data that streamlines maintenance operations and achieves cost savings. Information such as the names of flow meters, valves, and other field instruments, parameter settings, inspection records, and instruction manuals are stored in a database, which the operator can easily access as necessary.

The recently released Version 2.10 has added the following additional features:

(1) Maintenance Alarm Functions
Information on field devices is updated in real time and provides dynamic alerts and information to better facilitate maintenance of the device. The following functions are provided as Maintenance Alarm Functions.

• Message Acquisition
The Message Acquisition function collects device event messages and notifies maintenance personnel with information that helps diagnosis potential problems.

• Device Patrol
Device Patrol is a function that acquires self-diagnosis results from the field devices periodically or on demand. Additional information and diagnostics can be obtained from devices from which no events are issued.

• Filtering Function
The Message Filtering Function prevents the notification of alarm event messages that do not meet specified conditions in order to intelligently reduce the amount of alarms to maintenance or operation personnel.

• Device Navigator
Device Navigator is a function that shows the communication states and diagnosis results of the device on the screen. A mark indicates if a device has an unconfirmed alarm. As a result, maintenance personnel can visually check the operating states of the devices.

• Audit Trail Message Window
A list of generated maintenance alarms can be displayed on the Audit Trail Message Window. Maintenance alarms can be checked respectively, and the icons show whether they have been checked or not.

(2) Compliance with ISO14224
The label for ISO14224 can be used for the inspection memo. ISO14224 is an international standard stipulating handling of data on reliability and maintenance (the RM data) of the facilities in the oil and natural gas industry. Employing this de facto standard enhances safety and reliability of the maintenance work as well as readability of the data.

(3) HART Multiplexer
PRM R2.10 adds an interface to STAHL HART Multiplexer IS pac type 9192 and remote I/O I.S. 1 type 9440. This is in additional to the currently supported MTL Model MTL4840, Pepperl + Fuchs Model KFD2 and ELCON’s model Mux2700 multiplexers.

(4) Connection to Multiple COM Ports
PRM R2.10 provides connection of field communication services to the HART multiplexer via multiple COM ports increasing flexibility of the system configuration and number of HART devices that can be directly connected.

These enhancements further the capabilities of PRM by providing plant operations updated real-time device diagnostics to help reduce operating expenses related to their instrumentation.
