- Overview: This project marked the entry of Yokogawa into the power generation market in Australia. The customer was looking for a solution that had proven high reliability in the then new CRT based control philosophy. Yokogawa Australia was able to demonstrate its experience in mission critical control in the process industries and provided CENTUM control equipment to replace the previous panel-based analog and relay-based control equipment.
(Solutions/benefits)
- Reliable products and extensive services achieved no DCS related trips:
Yokogawa made a comprehensive effort to provide highly reliable and fully engineered products together with Pacific Power International (PPI), the owner's consultant. Operator/engineer training on a replica simulator was executed by TechComm Simulation, Yokogawa's subsidiary. Thanks to this team effort, no plant outages have been caused by the control equipment since commissioning.
