Do ProSafe-RS and CENTUM have the same hardware?
ProSafe-RS and CENTUM are housed in the same types of cabinets and feature the same maintainability, but their internal circuitry is very different.
ProSafe-RS basically uses the same highly reliable "pair & spare" technology as CENTUM, but is SIL3 certified even when there is only one CPU module.
ProSafe-RS relies more on modules that have a dual redundant architecture, and has extensive self-diagnosis functions. Thanks to its high speed data processing, data backup capability, and dual redundant I/O modules, the ProSafe-RS is ideal for safety applications.
