ESD stands for "emergency shutdown."
An ESD system shuts down a process and restores a safe state when a process value exceeds a preset acceptable level.

Explosion protection standards concern the safe installation of equipment in areas where any ignition source can cause an explosion.
Standards vary in each country so it is necessary to check in advance where the equipment will be installed to determine which explosion protection standards and certification requirements apply.

ProSafe-RS is a global product, and is certified to meet the FM Approval Standards in the US and the ATEX type “n” standard (self-declaration) in Europe. ProSafe-RS can be installed in Zone 2 or Division 2 hazardous areas.
