| AMEC, one of the world's largest engineering and construction companies, has installed a Yokogawa STARDOMTM system in a demonstration water treatment plant that it is building for Orica Advanced Water Technologies in Australia. AMEC's engineering group in South Australia was responsible for the actual system design and installation. The mobile plant was shipped to the UK, where it is being used to demonstrate the effectiveness of Orica MIEX (magnetic ion exchange) resin in removing carcinogens from water. |

In consultation with Orica, AMEC selected STARDOM for the following reasons:
As part of this project, Yokogawa Australia has provided training and technical support to AMEC Engineering, who is responsible for system configuration. This underlines the placement of STARDOM as a product for systems integrators. While Yokogawa Australia is no stranger to the water industry, having provided control systems for the Bondi treatment plant and being a leader in a wide range of field and analytical instrumentation for the industry, this project is the company’s first involving the automation of a smaller scale treatment facility.
With STARDOM, Yokogawa is now offering a product platform that has a broader appeal to industries and market segments such as water, renewable energy and fast moving consumer goods along with small scale applications in traditionally served industries. As an indication of its growing appeal, STARDOM won the Best New Product award when it was officially released at the most recent Automate exhibition.
