October 29, 2002 Yokogawa's STARDOM Passed Fieldbus Foundation Host Interoperability Support Test (HIST). Since Fieldbus Foundation launched its HIST project in 2000, Yokogawa, one of the founding members of the original ISP Foundation and later the Fieldbus Foundation (FF), has taken a leadership role in the specification, development, testing and implementation of FOUNDATION fieldbus technology in their instrumentation and control solutions.On October 29 2002,STARDOM system passed all areas of testing as the first Network based Control System (NCS) in the world, demonstrating Yokogawa's pioneering leadership and commitment to interoperability at all levels of FOUNDATION fieldbus technology as shown in the photo. The HIST program provides generic test procedures performed and witnessed by qualified FF staff on FOUNDATION fieldbus systems. HIST is a valuable asset to both control system manufacturers developing Foundation-compliant host implementations and end users seeking to benefit from full device functionality and subsystem interoperability provided by FOUNDATION fieldbus. This passing of the FF HIST gives our customers great confidence in implementing their fieldbus solution and also enables customers to build a real Network Based Control Solution covering all kinds of networks permeably.
