Sub-unit
  System Construction

This is the base which performs the role of an intermediate interface for connecting small I/O modules to the DARWIN acquisition main units.Up to six subunits, each of which can contain a maximum of six I/O modules, can be used with one main unit. In addition, a dedicated bus cable enables the main unit of the system to be connected to each subunit over a total cable length of up to 500 m. This ensures great design flexibility, and makes wiring for remote measurement more efficient and less costly.

Small Input Modules

Miniature 10-channel multiplexers convert analog measurement signals into digital form every 500 ms.
Input modules for up to 30 channels can be installed directly on the back of the DR recorders, or up to 300 channels can be installed on remote scanner subunits for the DARWIN main units. These small input modules each contain A/D converters, permitting a measurement interval of 500 ms for up to 300 channels for each main unit. In addition, the multiplexer section uses our unique high voltage solid state relay, achieving significant miniaturization, as well as ensuring high reliability and excellent environmental adaptability. A large variety of modules are available.

Alarm output module

This is a 4-channel or 10-channel output module which outputs contact alarm signals according to preset conditions. You can set four alarm levels per channel (choose from upper limit, lower limit, delta high limit, delta low limit, or rate-of-change). You can install alarm output modules on the subunits.

General purpose communications module

You can connect a GP-IB, RS-232C or RS-422A/RS-485 general purpose communications module to the back panel of the main unit. All measured data is transferred in real time via the installed communications module.

DI/DO module
DA100

This module outputs the system fail signals as well as 2 chs alarm outputs, and also enables the computation interval to be controlled from a remote location.

DC100

This module enables the DC100 data collector to be controlled* from a remote location, and also outputs the memory and system fail signals to your external annunciator.

* Remote control functions:

  • Start and stop memory sampling
  • Control statistical culculation interval
DR230/DR240

This module enables the DR230 hybrid recorder to be controlled* from a remote location, and also outputs the chart end and recorder fail signals to your external annunciator.

*Remote control functions:

  • Start and stop recording
  • Change chart speed
  • Start message printing
  • Start and stop memory sampling
  • Control statistical calculation interval
  • The DR232 expandable model incorporates the fail and chart end output as standard features.
Extension module

Using an extension module, you can supply power directly from a subunit for each input module* mounted on an extension base unit. Also, connecting an extension module on a subunit allows connection of up to three input modules as well as three extersion base units, over a distance of up to 30 m.
*: 10 ch universal input module or 10 ch DCV/TC/DI input module
