Release Upgrade of the Firmware and Viewer Software
MW100 Data Acquisition Unit
The MW100 Data Acquisition Unit firmware has been upgraded from R2.12 to R2.21, and the Viewer software has been upgraded to R2.06, accordingly. The following changes were made to the firmware.

[Changes from the Previous Version]

  • Added function that finds long-duration moving average of MATH channels
  • Added an alarm delay function to alarm types (measurement and MATH channels)
  • Added function allowing user to name data save folders
  • Added function for saving a message that will be common to all files created from recording start to recording stop
  • Communication input channels can substitute as MATH channels (equations of up to 8 chars. can be set)
  • Added parameters to the acquisition intervals for Modbus communication (new parameters: 20 s, 30 s, 40 s, 50 s, 60 s, 90 s, 120 s)
  • Support for tokuchu CANBus module (MX118-CAN-M30)
  • Added custom object to Web monitor (displays specified string when alarm occurs)
  • Fixes a bug in which, when there is no space on the CF card, recording stops when recovering from a power failure (if recording occurred with a data acquisition condition of ROTATE).

Tips of the Month
How much data flows through an Ethernet?
Customers have asked us the following: "Does high speed acquisition of hundreds of data put a strain on the LAN?" To transfer various data efficiently across a network, the original data is divided up and tagged with "headers" and other information. Certainly, the mechanics of this and other processes is complicated relative to RS232, RS485, and other forms of serial communication. When trying to describe the actual amount of data traveling on a network, strictly speaking it must be calculated while taking various conditions into account.
