YS1000 Sereis Single-Loop Controllers
Yokogawa has just announced the sales launch of its new YS1000 Series Single-Loop Controllers. Carrying over the high reliabiility of the conventional YS80/YS100 series models, the YS1000 series has greatly improved usability with a color display and a variety of communication and other functions. The launch is scheduled for February 5; see the following press release and special YS1000 Web site for more deails.

Release Upgrade of DAQSTQANDARD (DXA120) for DXAdvanced
DAQSTQANDARD (DXA120) for the DXAdvanced

A release upgrade (to R7.13) for DAQSTANDARD (DXA120) for DXAdvanced is now available via download. We invite users of version R7.12 and earlier to take this opportunity to upgrade. The following improvements have been made:

- Improved check functions related to the number of memory sampling channels and save intervals
- Added the "(" button for entering computation expressions expressions
- Fixed a bug in which the sampling rate of 10 s could not be set in event files

Note
Software upgrades are only available for download to registered users of DXAdvanced series products.

Outputting Messages When Monitoring with Gas Analyzers (DX1000)
DXAdvanced lets you output sixteen different messages when monitoring and recording with two gas analyzers

Correcting Temperature and Pressure of Discharge (YS170)
Temperature and pressure of flow in district heating/cooling systems can be compensated without specialized integrating meters by using the YS170 Single Loop Controller.

A: Excuse me, I'm looking for (Yokogawa Electric). Sumimasen, (Yokogawa-denki) wo sagashite irunodesu ga...
B: Go straight down this street, and turn left at the third signal. Kono michi wo massugu iki, mittsume no shingou wo hidari ni magarimasu.
B: Keep going a bit along the street and there'll be a post office. Sono mama sukoshi michi-nari ni iku to yubinkyoku ga arimasu.
B: If you turn right at that corner, it's on the left-hand side. It's next to the bank. Sono kado wo migi ni magaru to, hidari te ni arimasu. Ginkou no tonari desu.
A: How long does it take from here? Koko kara dono gurai kakarimasu ka?
B: It's about 10 minutes on foot. Aruite juppun gurai desu.
A: I see, thank you very much. Wakarimashita, arigatougozaimashita.
B: You're welcome. Douitashimashite.

Pronunciation Tip
Vowels are easy to pronounce, similar to Spanish or Hawaiian (as commonly pronounced by non-native speakers):
a = "ah" as in "taco" or "aloha"
i = "ee" as in "Tijuana" or "Waikiki"
u = "oo" as in "Eres tu" or "Luau"
e = "eh" as in "Espanol" or "Kameamea"
o = "oh" as in "Mexico" or "Molokai"
