Answers
Connection
1. What is the port for the LL100/200-specific cable on the PC side?
It is RS232C. It is a D-Sub, 9-pin connector.
2. How about Ethernet support?
Supported. A separate VJET or other RS485/Ethernet converter is required. Also, the controller must have a communication option.
3. What UT series products support Ethernet?
The UT351 and UT551.
4. What are the protocol choices when communicating via Ethernet on an instrument with RS485 communication using the UT351/UT551 gateway function?
Select MODBUS RTY(PLS=8).
5. What is the IP address?
In general, the private address 192.168.0.0 is used. When connecting the unit to an in-house network, consult with your network administrator.
6. The IP address item shows *.*.*.*,* when I call the parameter, but isn't the address specified with 4 parts?
When accessing a controller connected by RS485 communications via the UT351/551 gateway function, the last ,* is the address setting for the destination controller. Also, note that a comma is used rather than a period.
Setup
1. When I first turn ON the power the manual says IN should be displayed but it isn't displayed.
If you set inputs even just once, it is no longer displayed when the power is turned ON.
2. I want to change the input type.
When you change the input, the parameters are initialized. You should especially avoid changing during operation.
3. Can I change setup parameters during operation?
If you change setup parameters, parameters may be initialized. You should not change them during operation.
4. I can't set contact input registration DI or contact output registration DO.
These cannot be set when in custom computation mode.
5. What are direct and reverse action?
In general, heating control is called reverse action and cooling control is called direct action. With reverse action, when PV is smaller than SP output is ON, and with direct action, when PV is larger than SP output is ON.
6. What about CT settings during current control output?
These settings are ignored even if entered.
7. There is no current input range, why is that?
For inputting current, resistance is used and voltage is input.
Monitor
1. How many units can be monitored with the multi-monitor function?
In terms of numbers of loops, 16 loops worth in total. If one controller is performing cascade control, that would be 2 loops worth being used on one unit, so up to 8 units could be connected.
2. What types can be recorded with the multi-monitor function?
PV, SP, OUT, and alarms.
3. What is the output format of recorded data?
It is output to a CSV file.
