Demand alarm helps prevent overages, and also measures maximum value and current of demand.
For demand time of 30 minutes, the demand power (kW) is the average power over the 30 minute period. Demand exceeding a level specified in the contract with the power company results in the normal fee for the total power consumed plus an overage charge.
