Introducing Useful Functions
UTAdvanced® Digital Indicating Controllers
![]()
This is an introduction to the "control with backup function" that is included on the UTAdvanced Digital Indicating Controller. When speaking of a "backup function" we may think of outputting the output from an upstream system as-is when normal, and the control output from a controller when abnormal. However, the following is also possible.
This is a case where control signals to an operating terminal are switched with computed output from a PLC and output from a controller. When switched from the PLC to the controller, the controller's output tracking function engages for stable transition of the output values. (Note: When switching from the controller to the PLC, the control output from the controller is acquired by the PLC using the transmission output function, which requires the creation of a tracking process.) The switch is initiated with contact input (DI).

Notes on Model Selection
- For "control with backup function," be sure to choose a model with auxiliary analog input.
- When using 4 to 20 mA signals, select the /DR option.
