YS1000 Series Single-loop Controllers

Overview
This explains how to convert YS80 (SLPC) programs using a ROM writer.

Note
The user ROM mounted on an SLPC contains the user program and default parameters. Data such as tuning data that is actually operated on the SLPC is not included in user the ROM. If you want to convert data, read the operation parameters and ACTION switch settings from the side panel of the SLPC, and record them on a parameter sheet. Enter the recorded operation parameters in the YSS1000. When entering the parameters in the YSS1000, set the scale parameters first. Use the parameter sheet shown in section 11.4, "Parameter Sheet for SLPC-YS1700 Data Conversion."

1. Preparation
   Gather the following items.
   • YS80 (SLPC) ROM
   • The recommended ROM writer and its software (see below)
     Minato Electronics Inc.
   • YSS1000 software version R1.02 or later
   • The YS1700
   
   
   
2. Start the PC software for the ROM writer
   
   • Install the ROM writer software on the PC
   • Connect PC to the ROM writer with the provided cable
   • Turn ON the ROM writer
   • Start the ROM writer software
     
     
   
   
   
3. Insert the SLPC ROM in the ROM writer
   
   • Release the lock latch on the ROM writer
   • Insert the ROM in the ROM writer
   • Engage the lock latch
     
     
   
   
   
4. Select the ROM Model
   
   • In the software, click Device
   • Select the Fujitsu MBM27C64 (28 pins) or MB8516 (24 pins)
     *Note: If using the MB8516 (24 pins) , select MBM2716
     
     
   
   
   
5. Read the ROM data
   
   • Click the Read icon to read the SLPC program.
     
     
   
   
   
6. Save the ROM data
   
   • Click the Save icon to save the SLPC program in binary format.
     Save the file under an appropriate name.
     
     
   
   
   
7. Remove the ROM
   
   • Release the latch and remove the ROM from the ROM writer
   • Turn OFF the ROM writer
     Disconnect the ROM writer from the PC
     
     
   
   
   
8. Start the YSS1000
   
   • Connect the PC and YS1700
   • Start the YSS1000
     
     
   
   
   
9. Convert the data in the YSS1000
   Note:
   After this procedure, please read the user's manual, IM01B08K01-02E: "YSS1000 Setting Software for YS1000 Series/YS1700 Programmable Function User's Manual"
   • On the Convert menu, click YS1000 configuration function > SLPC
   • In the Open SLPC ROM Data File window, select the SLPC program file
   • Open the ROM data file (the *.BIN file that was saved by the ROM writer).
     
     
   
   
   
10. Check the program and download the data
    
    • Confirm the conversion result
    • When the Text Programming window opens, click Tool > Program Check
    • Save the program
    • Download the data to the YS1000
    • Check the operation on the YS1000
