In recognition of its excellent performance and service as
a C&I supplier, Yokogawa Philippines was given an award by
Mirant Philippines as the Most Outstanding Supplier - 1st Runner Up
in ceremonies held last January 14, 2005 at the Orchard Golf
& Country Club. The award was accompanied by a Certificate
of Appreciation "in recognition of your valuable performance
and service in supporting our supply requirements for 2004".
The award is given by Mirant every year to suppliers in specific
categories for their overall performance and for demonstrating
strong sense of responsibility in commitments that include
quality, delivery, value added service and after-sales support.
Mirant Philippines is the local subsidiary of Mirant Corp., one
of the leading power companies in the United States, which
has major ownership interest in nine power plants in the
Philippines with a combined generating capacity of 3,497 megawatts.
Its largest plants are in Ilijan, Batangas, 1,215MW; Sual, Pangasinan,
1,218MW; and Pagbilao, Quezon, 735MW.
YPI supplies the field instrumentation requirements of these plants
that are all located outside Metro Manila. Recently, it successfully
completed the installation of four sets OF AV550 Oxygen averaging
converters with 16 oxygen probes for Boiler 1 & 2 of Sual plant
under extremely tight delivery and installation program. Projects
under negotiation with Mirant include modification and maintenance
of the continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) at Pagbilao
station.
Mirant is the biggest foreign investor in the Philippine power industry
providing the energy essential for the country's economic growth. It
has recently disclosed a six-month expansion program to increase
the capacity of its existing plants to meet the growing demand
for high-quality and reliable electricity.
