Advanced Engineering of PLCs (FAM3) and SCADA Systems - PAEG

Description

The course undertakes the advanced engineering principles and methodologies behind PLC programming using Yokogawa’s FAM3 and EQ-Vue SCADA software.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Implement sequence and regulatory control using PLCs
  • Design and configure a PLC/SCADA system
  • Program FAM3 PLC using ladder logic, function charts and BASIC
  • Design and implement an MMI philosophy on EQ-Vue
  • Configure EQ-Vue

    For engineers and technicians who need to understand, implement control schemes using PLCs and SCADA systems.

    Prerequisites

    The participant should have attended the basic PLC course.

    2nd Regulatory control scheme implementation
    PID module, analog I/Os
    FAM3 instruction set
    Ladder diagram programming
    Statement/mnemonic lists programming
    Basic language programming
    Laboratory work: Simple feedback; Ramping setpoint
    3rd Sequence control implementation
    FLDs for motors and interlocks
    DI/DO modules
    Ladder diagram programming
    Function chart programming
    Laboratory work: Motor controls; Interlocks
    4th Man-machine interface implementation
    Functional specifications
    Graphics generation
    EQ-Vue capabilities and PLC integration
    Laboratory work: EQ-Vue graphics generation
    5th Alarm annunciation, historical trend, report generation
    Laboratory work: EQ-Vue alarming; Trending; Reporting
