December 14, 2000 Yokogawa Establishes Yokogawa Nordic AMERSFOORT, Netherlands - Yokogawa Europe B.V., the European regional headquarters of Yokogawa Electric Corporation (Japan), announces the launch of Yokogawa Nordic AB as of January 1, 2001. The company, capitalized at 8 million krona, will be based in Kista-Stockholm (Sweden) , expecting a sales growth of 160 million krona by fiscal year 2004. The company will be targeting at leading telecommunication companies in the Nordic market and offers marketing and sales of Yokogawa's test and measurement (T&M) products. It also plans to include product planning and development in the near future. T&M systems are considered to be vital to the development of wireless Internet applications (i.e. 3rd generation W-CDMA cellular networks), a market with an enormous potential. As several Nordic IT and telecommunication companies have a major global market share, Yokogawa considers its relationship with these companies to be strategically important for future business growth.
