Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces the release of its new system version upgrades, which will provide additional functionality to the CENTUM CS 1000/CS 3000 integrated control system products for oil, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, and other process industries.

The following five major enhancements were made to the CENTUM CS 3000 R3 .02 and CENTUM CS1000 R3 .02 systems:

  1. Addition of HART communication function.(*1)
  2. Addition of stand alone functionality to the PRM.
  3. Enhancements to batch and security packages that provides features and functions that allow users to adhere to U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines for recording and electronic signature regulation with regards to manufacturing of pharmaceuticals - FDA regulation 21CFR Part 11.
  4. Enhanced processing power of field control station that that has 1.5 times the capacity and increases performance by more than 50% while maintaining compatibility with current control station.(*1)
  5. Ten times increased control tag count, to 1 million tags, allowing support of super-large scale systems.(*1)

*1: only applicable for CS 3000

Plant Resource Manager
The HART protocol has been added to the Plant Resource Management (PRM) solution package. A stand alone PRM can be used in addition to the system. In addition to existent conventional legacy devices, the HART communication system can now be used with the FF H1, increasing scope of use.

Required Functions to Meet US FDA, 21CFR Part11
The FDA's 21CFR Part 11 provides electronic recording and electronic signature guidelines for the production of pharmaceuticals, and contains criteria for digitizing records. The regulation applies not only to U.S.-based pharmaceutical manufacturers, but also to any company that exports medical products and intermediates products to the U.S. To serve our clients, Yokogawa has provided additional features and functions to meet intents of the regulation.
This recording and storage function can be added to existing systems. Audit trails for both operation and engineering are included. Enhanced security functions provide for increased security and traceability.

Field Control Station (FCS) Power-up
Utilizing advances in computer technology that provides greater performance and increased functionality allows Yokogawa to increase its performance of its controller units for basic and advanced process control.
The new CPU provides for a 50% performance improvement and 1.5 times capacity at an equivalent cost and the same reliability of current controllers. This translates in to lower cost for our customers for implementation of their applications.

Super large Scale DCS
The R3.02 meets the needs of handling multiple processes domain at once, with the ability to support one million tags. This quantitative increase allows support of Super Large Scale systems.
