Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces the award of a contract for supply of equipment for the first phase of the In Salah Gas project, jointly operated as In Salah Gas by BP Exploration (In Salah) Limited and Sonatrach. The order was awarded by M.W.Kellogg Ltd., who is jointly owned by JGC Corporation and Kellogg Brown and Root.
Yokogawa was awarded this project by demonstrating their in country experience and proven control systems. The main technical requirements of the Client were for a reliable and environment-resistant control system with the ability to deal with real-time control requirements covering a large geographic area. In view of the phased development of the project the systems also had to be capable of being expanded over time. Yokogawa demonstrated to the Client their commitment to the Project HSE (Health Safety Environment) requirements and the goals of reliable and robust performance from the start of first year operations.

The scope of this award includes CENTUM CS3000 R3 integrated production control system , the ProSafe safety system, a wide area monitoring system and various field instruments such as flowmeters and transmitters.
